That's one thing that I feel myself becoming militant about. People who don't deserve to work at Disney who are here. People whom I refuse to refer to as Cast Members (that includes most of the bus drivers these days).
I was so grateful that she had an icepack that she could have looked at me square in the face and called me an idiot and I wouldn't have cared LOL

Ever been burned by one? man that's painful.

Every time it was exposed to sunlight for the rest of our vacation, killer.

And it was barely a minor burn too. Thing was when I yanked my arm away and involutarily shouted "ow!" the guy with the cig gave me the dirtiest look I've ever seen, as if I should have been watching where I put my arm.

On the armrest of my chair.

But still. . .was my fault his cig burned me. *shrug*!

Even thought my husband still teases me for saying "Sea-ers" instead of "Seers" when I pronounce the name (it's a two syllable word in this state, I'm sorry!) he might still take me there to get one of those dealeos!

You guys may seriously have saved my front teeth, or my nose which is enough a tribute to my British heritage it does NOT need any more help.

Though the idea of using it to poke SG's has occurred to me on several occasions if I'm being honest. . .but I would never do it.

Except if I could go back and whack the guy who burned me with his cigarette by walking next to my chair in a crowd and holding it far and away backward from him. THen I might use it.

I heard the sound before I felt the pain *cringe* spent half the afternoon at first aid getting ice packs.

Now here's a. . . well I won't say, "Stupid" CM moment but I will say "dippy".

I went to first aid in Epcot. Lady asks what my problem is.

I say, I need an ice pack please, I got burned by a cigarette.

She frowns at me and says "That's why you shouldn't smoke."

and I said "no, not MY cigarette. I don't smoke."

She still clucked her tongue at me as if I had burned my own arm with a cigarette just for fun *smacks forehead*
Well..There IS a game we used to play at a bar, AFTER a few brewski's, with a lit cigarette and two drunk guys with short sleeves!! (hehehehe)

The clamps are very strong, I was also going to tell you that I used three of the "mega" sized ones to clamp a shotgun, in a soft case to a large duffell bag afor ease in carryng it. they work great!! Was thinking about using them in my garage to "clamp" my ladders to a shelving unit I installed!!

That whole story makes me SO MAD. People who smoke are inconsiderate idiots.

As to the crutch/cane holder on the side of a WC, I ave an idea. A piece of PVC pipe that the foot of the crutch will fit inside. A cap on the bottom (with a drain hole to prevent it becomein a rain gage). The tube needs to be slightly less than the length of the WC frame from the top of the fabric seat back at the hand grip to the bottom of the back frame piece. A webbing loop at the top loops over the hand grip and is stopped from sliding on down the frame by the seat back. A velcro strap attaches around the arm rest where it attaches to the frame back. And lastly another velcro strap at the bottom to hold it to the frame at the bottom (so the cane can't become top heavy and flip the holder over).

It wouldn't be too hard to make such a thing and would be installable on nearly any chair. In fact you may want to have two. One for the crutch and one for an umbrella. And being made from PVC plastic and webbing it would be light and easy to carry along until a chair is obtained. In fact it may even be able to be hung on the crutch itself for non-WC travel.

I did a quick search for "cane holder wheelchair" and came up with a few already on the market items:

Thank you, Rob! I never imagined they made stuff like that!

You know, I have tears in my eyes over here you all have shown such genuine care and concern for my safety/potential injury factors as to look for and find so many options for me. I will definitely get on ordering one before our upcoming trip, I want to be sure that my husband checks them out too I worry about him getting whacked in the face with the crutch if it holds it up too high. . .but that you all cared enough to take time out of your busy days/lives to look for me. . . wow

And to the CM (and you know who you are) who PM'd me and offered help if I needed it with securing a chair, etc, well. Everyone here is just so cool.

People can say what they will about us here at SGT but I've seen more genuine kindness and helpfulness here than on just about any other forum I've visited, and I've been to many in the past decade +.

Thanks, everyone *sniff*
