It always amazes me the way some people don't think through their choices. I know one couple here who wanted to have a house out in the country. They wanted a house surrounded by farm fields. So they got one. Then when the farmers began plowing and planting in the spring, raising clouds of dust and making noise from before sun up to well after sundown, the family was upset. They actually complained to the local sherrif, wanting the farmers restricted to an 8 hour day, 5 days a week, and must come up with some technology to not raise any dust.

It's about as smart as someone moving from FL to the north because they want free airconditioning in the winter. :D:

How about building a house under an airport approach and departure flight paths and then complaining about the noise? Hello!!!!

That has happened here. People built their houses right by Naval Air Station Pensacola and then started complaining about all the planes taking off and landing right over their heads. They were the idiots who built right by a major flight training base, that's not the Navy's fault and the Navy shouldn't have to suffer.

Another case I know of is people complaining about a car repair shop in the neighborhood. The garage was there long before the complainers moved in. The county investigated and the shop owners had to find their deed and licenses to show that they were perfectly legal. They wound up putting up a big privacy fence between them and the property next door. In this case a good fence did make for good neighbors, or at least ones that complain less. The only legitimate complaint the neighbors had were shop customers turning around in their driveways and in response the shop put up signs showing customers where to turn around, which, AFAIK, solved the problem.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

My daughter's grandmother told me that Jenna was a weird name and that she was surprised that I was able to find Christmas ornaments with that name on them. Actually I do have a hard time finding things with her name on them, but mainly because they are already sold out. I should have named my daughter Silver Moon. :D:
