But did the kids have fun?
So I was at Peter Pan unload yesterday with the standby at 60 minutes. "mom and dad" come off the attraction and loudly proclaim to me "Well that's an hour of my life I'll never get back. What a waste!" Kids in the boat behind them, both smiling and saying how much fun they had! So I look to the "parents" and say "Well, they had fun" to which they proclaimed "Well, we're paying  "
Poor kids probably don't get to do anything unless "mom and dad" will have fun.

This is so sad. Parents shoot down the kid's enthusiasm and the kids turn into bitter, angry adults. These are NOT parents, they are people who had babies and don't care about their feelings. Jags! :(

They should have done what we do: Get a FP and ride Small World until your time or until your ears start to bleed!! :D:bpgstudios wrote:So I was at Peter Pan unload yesterday with the standby at 60 minutes. I love Peter Pan. Shame on those whiners. The last 2 trips, we went on Donald's Boat Ride and the Land about 1000 times. The kids LOVE it and had a blast. THAT's what I pay for. :D:

Re: But did the kids have fun?
Part of why I go to Disneyland is to see OTHER people's kids have fun...My kids are no longer little, so it is so cute to see the little ones so excited and happy, and if they're dressed up as a princess or a pirate, I always try to let them know they look terrific. Don't they know that in a few short years, they will be begging their kids to spend more time with them?

And you hit the whole point of what one type of SG is!! Dosn't understand that what they say and do are also part of the "magic" or a detractor from it!Christine43 wrote:Sad, they're missing the whole point.

Oh, this bugs the living crap out of me! Some parents are do darn selfish! In the character lines I hear this all the time, and it never ceases to amaze me. What bugs the living daylights out of me is, when they bribe the children with something; then they turn around and complaint about how expensive Disney is. You know what? Disney would be less expensive for you if you had actually spend time in doing lines for the things your children wanted to do.bpgstudios wrote:So I was at Peter Pan unload yesterday with the standby at 60 minutes. Not only do lines don't cost you money, but they teach a valuable lesson to your children in patience, waiting your turn and time management. How about bringing their nintendo to play while they wait on line? How about crayons and a coloring book? How about a book? Lord, I can think of at least 10 things to do while I wait in a line in Disney. Waiting in line doesn't have to be an endless moaning and ****ing if you actually find other things to entretain yourself. Heck you can even be less self absorb and talk to other people.
It just bugs the heck out of me when Parents are so darn selfish. What really is amazing is when they complain about how ungrateful junior is. Well, were did he learn that?

Parents are experts at putting their kids down and showing the ugly side of anything that the kids could enjoy. Then they wonder why the kid is a moody teenager, Again; where could he had gotten from?

And thus the great circle of (SG) life is complete!!

I love my four year old nephew! We were in line for something at one of the parks (actually, he was three when this happened) and the people in front were getting antsy. He looked them right in the eye and said, in three-year-old speech, "we have to WAIT to ride." He know that he has to wait in the line to get to ride the ride. I wish he'd teach this trick to his father though. My brother hates to wait for anything!

Re: But did the kids have fun?
I spun myself nauseous on the Mad Tea Party, Listened to It's a Small World till my ears were bleeding and stood next Cinderella's Horse on her carousel so many times that my feet were near falling off. Did I have fun? Sure I did. My daughter didn't stop smiling once. I paid the same amount that they did. A little less than a year later I can't remember anything negative about the park or the CMs. I still remember most of the SGs though. Life is what you make of it. These SGs don't get that they are probably unhappy with everything in their lives.
