Usually a position where you have direct dispatch control requires it. Unload has to do it, mostly just for the approach and unload belts (but a station stop stops all three belts), and Dispatch watches all three but mostly deals with the load belt. Just to clear something up...
Station Stop-"Soft Shutdown"-all station belts stop, ride pumps stay on and boats continue moving in the flume. Easily recoverable with the reset button and confirmation by the other load/unload console.
E-stop-"Hard Shutdown"-power is removed from ride system. All station belts stop and boats in the flume "glide" to a stop. Intrusion sensors remain active. Requires dispatch to power down and power up the ride with a coordinator approval except in certain auto-e-stop situations.

No problem. That's for sure. I think the reason Disney incidents gain so much attention is the fact that they are very rare. Safety is our number one priority overall so sometimes if a CM seems a little stern, it's likely that they have a very good reason. The thing that makes me irritated is people reaching out of the boats to touch the brushes at the edge of the unload platform. They aren't that interesting!!! So I have my three warning rule: once is politely asking them to stop, second is a little more firm, third is a command and station stop. Then people take a station stop as their cue to disembark...while the boat is only halfway into the unload station!!! So then we ask them to sit down again and the person who caused all of this looks around like "Who the hell is he talking to?"GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Oh, thanks!!! On Safari trucks, the rule is three requests, then they're on their own. Again, if they fall off the truck, I am going to stop and try to get them back in, but at the same time, I won't try too hard as that creates a safety hazard for my other guests. When it comes to some of these animals, you do have to weigh the needs of the one against the needs of the many. If someone stands and I've asked them to sit down three times and they don't, in some places there is not much I can do, because it sets a precedent that if they stand, I will stop, so if they want a photo, they just stand and I'll give them a nice, still shot.
Can't do it. If they want that, they should take the special trip. It sounds callous, but on a day like today where my shortest trip was literally the longest time allowed, I literally don't have time to let them stop me for a picture. On the special safari, they go out for an hour or more and stop in various locations.
