This is sort of off-topic, but I think that's a requirement for any thread anyway. This suggestion reminded me of when I lived in my apartment where the last four digits of my phone number were 0003 and the local pizza parlor was 0033. Usually I'd just say "wrong number," but if they caught me in a cranky mood I'd say, "Sorry, we burned down" or "We're not doing deliveries because we were destroyed by a tornado."felinefan wrote:Has anyone ever been tempted to tell them the exact opposite--like actually the worst place to see the fireworks, etc.?

Glad you enjoyed that. I know we were talking about it at the Illuminations Cruise.Whazzup wrote:I think the best meal I've had on property so far was last month at Spoodles.
The other place I really want to try is Whispering Winds Canyon Cafe.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

We tried Le Cellier on our last trip, and it was outstanding -- the best food we had all week!!! (And none of us even had steak!)
We've been in our home for seven years now, and we still get calls for a hair salon that used to have our number. I keep telling my wife she ought to just make an appointment for the people. :twisted:Syndrome wrote:This is sort of off-topic, but I think that's a requirement for any thread anyway. I think it's just Whispering Canyon Cafe, BW. It's a fun place but I've read mixed reviews on the food. We ate breakfast there with my brother and SIL a few years ago and I had brought along a bottle of catsup (you know about the catsup thing, right?). Anyway, I offered my bottle of catsup to the waiter and he just kind of looked at me and excused himself and went into the back. When he came out he said, "I'm sorry but I can't accept this - it's not the brand of catsup we use here." Evidently Heinz or DelMonte or somebody has the contract for catsup and that's the only brand they can use! So, I had him autograph my catsup bottle and I brought it back home where it sat on a shelf for a year until I decided to use it.Big Wallaby wrote:Glad you enjoyed that. We kept trying to interact with the cast members there, but evidently things are pretty quiet at breakfast. It's dinner that's fun, with stick horse races, happy birthday songs, giant refills of Coke, and zany antics from the cast members. Haven't experienced that yet.

Whispering Canyon is fun. HA! You know what would be fun is when they yell for Ketchup....bring along a whole bunch of packets of it from a CS somewhere else on property (this way no prob with the contract stuff) and go over to the first person who asks for it when you're there and dump like 30 of them on the table. LOL Bet they wont forget that.

Good idea, Vixen! I like it. Okay, BW, start stocking up on catsup packets for your visit to WCC. Just don't forget they are in your pocket and sit on 'em. What color does red and purple make, anyway? Brown? Oops!
Re: Like They Didn't See This Coming?
I actually had some old geezer leave his pizza order for delivery on my answering machine. This was despite the fact that I had a message like "You have reached Weekly World News Headquarters. Press 1 for a sighting of Bat Boy, 2 for Elvis..." Wonder if he called them back and reamed them out when it didn't show up.Marilou wrote:Or better still....my b/f had a phone # very close to a pizza place and when they were in cranky moods.....they would actually take their order! Re: Like They Didn't See This Coming?
Years ago, my phone number was one digit off of the local Bradlees store. (Bradlees is similar to walmart, Kmart, etc). Mine was 9280, theirs, 9380.
Anyway, my phone rings on Christmas morning, about 9:30 am. This was before the days of caller ID. I answer it, "hello?"
"Are you guys open today?"
ME: "Sure, come one down."
*wish I could have been watching the asshole pull up and see the look on his face when he realized that he was made a fool of.
I've gotten messages on my answering machine asking me to pick up some kid from school because he's sick. It was the nurse calling.
When I lived in an apartment, I got a call from some home improvement company giving me the spiel about new windows, etc for my house. After the guy finished, he asked if he could schedule me to have someone come out for an estimate. I said, "Sure, but you'll have to check with the manager of the apartment building."
