Stupid Trick or Treat Tricks

Post by vixen101485 » Sun Oct 28, 2007 2:33 pm

Ya just gotta wonder about ppl sometimes.

Today was the trick or treat halloween parade at our local Walmart. (which btw the little one wound up with about 2.5 lbs in a span of 10 minutes..lol) So anyway you have this huge line of parents and children in costume spanning the whole store..ok? get the idea? This mature (not old just older)woman, with no kids and obviously just shopping, comes up to about where we were and asks where the end of the line was. Umm...way back there. and I quote/unquote" Do you mean I have to wait in this long line to just buy something?" After I nicely told her that this was just for the kids getting candy and she left and the lady behind me and I had a good chuckle.

The child behind us was dressed up as a puppy for sale. Cute set up--a wagon full of stuffed dogs with a sign on the side saying For Sale Puppies 50Cents Each. The mom (whom I had a laugh with) tells me what happened to her yesterday at some other trick or treat thing they went to. A woman there wanted to and was extremely insistant upon actually purchasing one of the stuffed dogs in the wagon. The mom said the SG actually got angry and told her they shouldn't have a sign up on the wagon if they weren't going to sell them. LMMEO I thot she was joking but she said the woman was very irate over it. ****shakes head*** You run into them even out of the parks too...LOL

Fine, make it so that the kid's selling the stuffed puppies for $500, and if she still wants to buy, then he makes a good profit, despite replacing his stuffed puppy.

But yeah, that's just sad. I mean, c'mon. I never call a lady this (for instance, no one around here would be referred to as this by yours truly), but that old biddy sounds like a real broad.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I had a trick-or-treater who was about 14 or 15 years old remind me why society is going downhill.

Me: *In reference to my spooky house* I find it delightfully unliveable in this ghostly retreat... (I was using Mansion references all night since some people around here get it)
Stupid ToTer: What's unliveable mean?
SToTer's Brother: It means you cant live there, dumbass.

There was a story in the Dallas Morning News about teenagers trick or treating without putting much effort into costumes. I liked one lady they found who kept two bowls of goodies. One contained chocolates and other really good stuff -- this she gave to the cute kids with costumes. The other bowl, with gum and other less desirable stuff, was for the teens out of costumes. :)

My wife mentioned to me that one person at her work told a story of some old guy who was by himself in not much of a costume, going around trick or treating.

So someone called the police.

Turns out he was a Russian immigrant who owned a small variety store. He was going around trick or treating to collect candy to sell in the store.

Since he committed no crime, there was nothing the police could do.

Surprisingly I didnt see many teens completely out of costume while out and about last week. Maybe one or 2 on Halloween nite and that was it. We were out with the little monster and I just left a bowl of treat bags on the porch (the cheap stuff of course--I aint about to leave chocolate for the hooligans) All the bags went and I think most of the kids were honest about it.
Back to my point. My general rule is No costume---no candy. They dont have to be fully decked out but at least make some sort of effort. I especially love the ones who come up and just hold out their bags. UMMM...yeah, ya want something? Speak! I should start making them do a dance or sing a song if they dont follow the general TOT guidelines. LOL WORK FOR THAT CANDY LITTLE MAN! :D:

My mom said she had one woman with 2 small children dressed up and with her own pillowcase. Now my mother hasnt much tact but in this case I have to agree with her. NO, I am not giving you candy, how old are you, like 35? sigh.... We do dress up but dont have our own bag..yeesh. We get candy anyway without asking just on the cuteness factor. LOL I had one old man actually INSIST that I take one too. LOL

I just get bitter when people that are too big/not dressed-up ask for candy. Not that it means anything to them, but I feel better about it then. As for the mother with the pillow case, I feel bad for her kids!

Fun idea! I hope some people appreciated it. Last year I pumped an edit from Hallowishes toward the sidewalk and then I played the Mansion bell theme out my window closer to the house. Thankfully no neighbors complained.

I had a group of five girls, that I thought were older teenagers, show up. They were all dresses in really really "sexy" vampire, sexy Dorothy, etc. one guy was with them and standing back, not in costume. I always offer a candy to escourts. I asked if the boyfriend would lkie some candy, and one of the girs replied, that my DAD! Now I believe that the girls were not over 12 or 14 , maybe younger. All they needed was a pole for dancing!!!
