Yes. The sellers of leasehold properties will tell prospective suckers there is no fee simple land left. There is but it'll cost more.

Leasehold may be cheaper initially but when it's time to renegotatiate the lease, the land owner holds all the cards.

i have never used the DDP because my youngest doesnt each much of anything, and to be on it all members of the party must be on it. i've heard of people who go to eat, and don't leave any tip to the food server because the tip is included in the plan. that's wrong. and i think the park attracts more trashy people w/this plan. a few years ago, making a reservation for cinderella's breakfast we had to leave a CC # and it would be charged if we were a no show or cancelled to late. that's the way it should be for all of these ADR's. i know that disney is changing the plan to eliminate as much "fraud" as it can, and they should.

I been reading some boards and some tricks include.

Sharing meals, appetizers and drinks. Go to a place that serves large portions of food like the double consommé of chicken and beef which can serve two people but counts as one appetizer.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1109080
At hotels you could get things like a box of donuts or cookies from entemanns, 2 liter soda pop, jar of salsa, large bag of doritos or potato chips, 6 count of bagels, and 64 oz orange juice. People could get chili fries, malts, half gallon of milk, salads, loaf of bread, peanut butter, bean dip, hot fudge sundaes, cheesecake and poptarts.

It sounded like you got a little snack but the smart people figured out how to get a lot of food off of the plan like you could get milk, juice, bagels and donuts for breakfast and save yourself one meal.

It is sad that people will reserve many times as they will not plan around reservations. How hard is it to make a schedule around meal times.

Why is it wrong if the tip is included? Many times I would leave an extra tip, because I recieved exceptional service, but not always.

Under the DDP as it exists right now the server gets a fixed amount of gratuity for each diner, based on the amount the restaurant is credited with for the meal and not the menu price of the items ordered. So even if a person puts an additional tip on the slip they sign it does not get charged to them and the server does not get it.

Under the revised plan the entire amount of the tip will be charged to the Guest's account and the server will get that amount.

This will assist in leading to the doom of DDP. (Which I would like to see die anyway.)

Under the current plan the servers do not bother to upsell as their tip is not affected. Under the new plan they will try to get the Guests to order the most expensive items since they will get the gratuity based on what the menu prices are and not on the fixed amount the restaurant gets. And this will have the restaurants up in arms as they will be having significantly higher costs for the same income.

And some guests are cheap and lazy. $100 meal means $18 tip even though normally you would tip $25 to $30 for excellent service.

A waitress told me how she got a large party and they were charged the manadatory tip for 8 or more people at Rosewood. They ordered dishes that are extra work like menudo and had the waitress working double. What did she get for her hard work? The minimum tip added to the bill.

The worst item to serve is menudo. I comes with bowls of lemon wedges, cilantro, onion, cabbage and tortillas plus something else. It is under $7 and takes more time than steak and a baked potato.

Thanks Cheshire.

Back when I waited tables, we always used to fudge adding the minimum tip to a bill for large parties. If it was a table full of high school kids, then by all means add the mandatory tip because otherwise, you won't get one... But if it's a table of adults and I clearly have a good rapport with them then I would not, generally add the mandatory tip. Usually, you get quite a bit more trusting them to tip on their own. People who see the mando-tip on their bill usually won't tip any extra. I also worked at a place that gave coupons to certain guests for a their dining plan. The coupons said, right on the front, in good sized type: "Tax Included. Tip NOT Included." Needless to say, the hotel had to start giving us a few bucks per coupon because we weren't seeing ANY tips from those people.

LOL You all have NO idea!

Stupid tricks that I can come up with off of the top of my head:

1.) Telling me that your 4 year old is two so that they can dine for free.

2.) "Finding" (possibly planting, in this case) a hair on your plate. Management comps you lovely tropical alcoholic beverages. You then, straight faced, look at your server and say that the beverages were great, but any chance of comp park admission too?

3.) Party of 12 consumes 8 woks (18 inch pans) of breakfast food. Then they say that the food was inedible and don't want to pay.

4.) Guest yells at their server that their 35 yr old husband's birthday wasn't recognized WHILE THE ENTERTAINER IN THE RESTAURANT IS CALLING UP THE BIRTHDAY GUESTS!!!!

5.) Guests run me ragged, ask stupid questions ("Does it take longer to get a mixed drink than a coke? Why is my soft drink here before my MaiTai?" "Uhh, well, the bartender does have to make it"), verbally and loudly insult other diners in the restaurant, pay with DVC gift certificates and then STIFF THE SERVER!

6.)People who let their kids run BAREFOOT in a restaurant. Uh.... duh.... we break glass.... hourly!

7.) People who show up 30 minutes late for their ressies and get mad when they have to wait 15 minutes.

8) "I have Coke, Diet Coke, Lemonade, Sprite, Ice Tea, Milk, Chocolate Milk, and apple juice. What would you like?" "Rootbeer". (I shake my head) "Dr. Pepper?" "Cousin, I have Coke, Diet Coke, Lemonade, Sprite, Ice Tea, Milk,
Chocolate Milk, and apple juice." (sg sighs....) "Coke" Did they think that I was kidding???

9.) Is this $13 alcoholic beverage included? NO? Oh. I'll have a coke.

I'll come back. I have more to share.
