While perhaps best known for voicing Judy Jetson, Janet Waldo gave voice to perhaps thousands of characters, first on film and radio, then in animation, where she was a regular for Hanna-Barbera.
Disney fans know her as the voice of Grandmother in Act IV of the current version of the Carousel of Progress.
Her last name is not a "Where's Janet" joke, but a tribute to Ralph Waldo Emerson, an ancestor on her father's side.
Despite playing a breathless teenager throughout her career, Waldo passed away last week at the age of only 96.
