Caption contest

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Week 36 Caption Contest results! Ah, the (almost-)cool Autumn air sure does bring out the comedy… First the Honorable Mentions: Zazu: "I've always treated you just like my other kids. I feed you, I house you, I keep you safe. Now that you're five, I expect you to start picking up after yourself. Here's your rake."; Two from ktulu: "Despite raising it from a small bush, Brad had enough of the competition from the singing tree." and "With the rock inventory complete, Brad moved onto leaf inventory."; Rick Bivins: "Before the fight started, Wombat took a combative stance, weapon in hand...when it was all over, the tree won."; bookbabe: "The new HGTV show 'Gardening with Marsupials' did not quite turn out as expected."; and Lynn A Ewing: "Now that he's a grownup, Wombat battles the kite eating tree."

And the winning entry this week comes from Baylor lawyer and friend Lyn Robbins, who is either one of the nicest smart guys I know or one of the smartest nice guys I know. This is his first win this year and third overall! Congratulations, Lyn!

Thanks to all who entered! New picture on Monday!

2014 CAPTION CONTEST, Week 37 -- If you are HALF the Game of Thrones fan that I am, then you haven't seen any episodes, either. Still, this should make for some entertaining captions. How would you caption this picture? Comment below!

The same pic will show here, on Facebook, and on The World of Wombat. I'll repost the pic with my favorite caption on Friday. No prize this week, sorry, just the glory of winning!

The demo of Spirit Airlines new seats was certainly interesting. It was simply sad that they would not provide the same decoration or space once placed aboard the planes.

As much as he loved the chair, Brad was glad he wasn't a character created by George R. R. Martin.

Wombat fantasizes what his "bench" will look like when he becomes a judge.

When Wombat was a boy, his art teacher asked him to do a model of "The Thinker." Unfortunately, he'd read one too many George R R Martin novels.

Design concept for the new wombat enclosure at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The Imagineers sometmes have a bit too much "blue sky"!
