Aw, I love their "doctored" insignia! Ariel's way cuter than the Starbucks mermaid. :ariel: Never liked the two-tailed siren types as much anyhow plus the Starbucks logo one looks so annoyingly self-satisfied. Kind of like this bigger version, though:

Except I can't imagine how those two "legs" would actually get her anywhere - which is my usual problem with the two-tailed ones. I don't demand realistic fantasy critters, but I do think they should look functional.

From someone from Oregon, who met one of the founders of Starbucks... How well did I know him? His son was the best man at my wedding, and his mom and my mom went to school together in a psychology post-grad program.

First, I wish it wasn't Starbucks. Not my favorite coffee. I much prefer Coffee People, Portland's Best, Seattle's Best, Stumptown and several others. Living in Florida where aside from Starbucks no one knows what true espresso is, Starbucks suffices when I am not able to make it myself (and I prefer French Press).

So Starbucks in the parks... Well, I guess it's a brand that everyone recognizes.

Disney should have used Voodoo Donuts instead.

Last time I was in Portland, EVERYONE was telling me about Voodoo Doughnuts. I want to try the maple bar with bacon. It just sounds weird enough to be good.

And only Portland could pull a place like that off.

Don't mention this on MW (mousewait). They will hate you and give you flak for bringing it up.

Starbucks bought and ruined them. We had it at work, horrible stuff.

A location so simple & near me. I can't believe you've not been to Market House. "Next time" equals VERY SOON, rite? Rite? Rite? Thought so. ;)
