Because of the way the tickets are front-loaded. If you are local and want to visit a Park for a few hours you probably have some sort of AP. If you are a visitor, the 4th day on a pass is $8 and the fifth through tenth days are only $5 each. And for convention attendees they do have "After 2:00" and "After 4:00" reduced price passes.

Why is it when a cast member warns a kid not to do something that is unsafe and the the stupid parents don't care? Billy has a captain hooks toy at the end of his hand and dries 3 times to clear off condaments off a turkey cart? The cast member warns him clearly, that it is not safe and now is determined to removed the contours out of the fake ice display with the same item? The cast member tells Billy not to do it because it can cause harm to others and to the cast member if the fake ice breaks or if the soda was to break loose. SG mom blows steam off at cast member. By the way, the cast member does have another cast member witnessing Billy's mom not controlling her kid.

Have you witnessed one of these days?

I just keep getting people coming up poking the contours and ice display and freaking out when they find the contours are real and the "ice" is fake!

What gets me if you hear a CM request someone in line to stop doing something that is unsafe and the SG does not comply, what in the world is the SG doing in the park? I was raised by 2 college teachers. It only took 1 warning with us. The next warning and we are leaving and not coming back.

SO, if Billy's mom was paying attention, she would had stopped him. Billy's mom is one who does not care if Billy gets hurt. When that happens, why ignore the CM's?

because this is the new age of enlightenment of raising kids.

Like you, I was raised with certain "values" for public behaviour, and I pased them on to my kids.

and now they are doing the same for their kids.

we still had fun and enjoyed activities, such as Disneyland and so on, as well as the whole family.

giving your kids some self dicipline is not the "self esteem" killing product that some parents now believe.

Amen. To think, it might actually serve them when they get older.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I finally found a thread to post in that I have a story for, and the thread isn't ancient, or off the topic I was interested in. :D:

The first time we went down to Disneyworld with my now 10 year old brother, I was showing him videos of stuff. Trying to get him ready for rides and things, and because I'm a bit obsessed. :whistlng:
He ended up seeing the video of Tower where they're all standing when they drop. Flash forward to getting him to get in line for the ride, after much coaxing from my mom that he wouldn't actually have to get on the ride.

We get ushered into a Library, the room goes dark, and all you hear is my brother yelling 'I don't want to go down!' and freaking out.

I didn't stop laughing about it forever. :p:

Oh, and I knew by now that there were a lot of smilies around here, but oh my, I just spent like 10 minutes looking through them all.

I think other parks offer the "after 4pm get a discount for the next day promo" to get you to go more than one day.

Something that WDW doesn't have a problem with.

Eh, we go off-topic all the time. It's almost a requirement!
