Ok, this is a little confusing. But I am trying to work this all out, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Ok, here goes. I was a CP on the Fall Advantage 2006 program, as a character attendant. When I left in Jan, I went seasonal. Now I am doing the Summer Alumni program, but in custodial. I had a scheduling issue on the Portal, so I called today to get it worked out. I was told something along the lines that I can't be a character attendant while I am doing custodial. So here is my question- will I lose my seasonal status as a character attendant if I do the Summer Alumni program in custodial? I really do NOT want to lose my status in entertainment.

You can't work in more than one department at a time. It's that simple - if you are in the system as a CM in the custodial department that is your company assignment.

The only way you could multi-task would be to come in as an outside contractor. For example, my husband used to work in Parades, but he's also a scenic artist, so I used to see him from time to time working on paint over in Toon Town or Splash, whatever. He got the paint jobs by being subcontracted by a firm that Disney had contracted with do do the rehabs or ride construction. So technically, on his paint days, he was *not* a CM. Unfortunately for you, you could still do custodial if you were subcontracting with the night crew that does the graveyard shift cleaning (not a great idea if you're a student) but in this computerized, stratified world, you can't work in two departments at the same time.

However, just because you're statused to one area doesn't mean you can't pick up shifts in another. For example, I'm statused to the Studios, but I pick up EHH shifts all over the place, and also cross-u with the YES program.
