Fastpass: Stupid Attraction Trick
So, the busy season is over right? WRONG! But we are not at numbers quite as high as new years eve, christmas, or 4th of july. So why is the fastpass return queue for Peter Pan's Flight extending all the way to the carrousel? for most of the day- so it wasn't just a case of everyone showing up at once. It did not get THIS bad for most of the day durring our PEAK days.
So what can be attributed to this type of horrorshow? I have NO idea. Yesterday morning during EMH, the standby queue had to be extended by 8:30am. And thats with no FP. The people in the FP queue were waiting upwards of 30 minutes at some points in the day. Yes, many of us F-land CMs have expressed our hatred of FP at pan. But it NEVER in my time there has gotten this out of control. So my question would be this:
Is FP going insane at your attractions too? or is it JUST pan?
I dont even have the energy to post about the millions of angry guests we had.

Re: Fastpass: Stupid Attraction Trick
Yesterday was very weird. We actually went to almost 6,000 entries; capacity is 8,500. That is a normal summer day business.
I had to go to Epcot after work to pick up some pins. The Tip Board showed 200 minutes for Soarin'!!!!!!!!! And about 140 for MS.

It is probably more and more guests think that the FP is a front of the line deal or just a front of the line faster deal (which it is supposed to be, but with so many guests getting FPs....). I work at The Great Movie Ride at MGM and while we have no fast passes available there but during a 5 - 20 minute wait, more and more impatient[/I] guests ask where the fastpass machines are. I just tell them we don't have FPs and they get all upset that they have to wait in such a looooooooooong line. All I say to them is be thankful this isn't a BUSY day!!! They would probably see this guy while waiting for such a long time... :grim:

Re: Fastpass: Stupid Attraction Trick
Fastpass seems to have its issues some days, especially with Splash. Saturday after labor day, it was a 10 minute wait. People were getting Fastpasses good in 40 minutes.
On the flip side, Kilimanjaro has a 40 minute wait or fastpasses good in 40 minutes. Hmm... which would I rather have?

With the 10 minute wait you just ride (duh). But with an even stand-by/fastpass time, well instead of standing in line for 40 minutes waiting to ride, I can go do another attraction or two and then come back in 40 and get on in like 5 or 10 minutes. That's the point of FP no?kurtisnelson wrote:Fastpass seems to have its issues some days, especially with Splash. Saturday after labor day, it was a 10 minute wait. Yes. But what's the point of doing this when the return time is AFTER the length of the standby line? Why would I want to wait 40 minutes for a return time when I can ride in ten minutes, and then go do the same things I would have done while waiting?GaTechGal wrote:With the 10 minute wait you just ride (duh). Re: Fastpass: Stupid Attraction Trick
Because you're not supposed to be standing there waiting for your FP time to arrive, you're supposed to be experiencing OTHER attractions. So the net effect is like a 5 minute wait on the FP'd attraction.CBeilby wrote:Yes. But what's the point of doing this when the return time is AFTER the length of the standby line? Re: Fastpass: Stupid Attraction Trick
I don't think you're quite getting what I'm saying. If the Standby line is short enough that you can get on the ride in ten minutes when the fastpass return time is in 40, it doesn't make a bit of difference. I just go do the other things AFTER I get off Splash Mountain. I'm still not standing around waiting for my Fastpass return time in that case. I'm getting things done.GaTechGal wrote:Because you're not supposed to be standing there waiting for your FP time to arrive, you're supposed to be experiencing OTHER attractions. Re: Fastpass: Stupid Attraction Trick
There always option "C" in this case... Get a FastPass, wait in the Standby line, and then use the FastPass afterward to ride twice in a row. :)CBeilby wrote:I don't think you're quite getting what I'm saying. That's my FAVORITE. Course I tend to save up those FP's and use them all in the afternoon. Does that make me a bad guest?Rob562 wrote:There always option "C" in this case... Get a FastPass, wait in the Standby line, and then use the FastPass afterward to ride twice in a row. :)
