Lost and Found

Post by Cheshire Figment » Fri Oct 20, 2006 7:53 am

About a month ago one of the Lifeguards found a man's wallet in the Wave Pool (Typhoon Lagoon). A Coordinator brought it to Guest Services, where we opened it up. It had over $1,200.00 in currency in it. Luckily it also had a photo ID which had not been damaged by the water.

The Guest was paged over the Park's PA system to come to Guest Services. When he arrived he was reunited with his (very soggy) wallet. He had forgotten that he had it in the back pocket of his swim trunks, which did not have any button, and had thought that his wife had the wallet in her pocketbook and had not even realized it was lost.

Just out of curiosity, did the lifeguard get a reward?

20 yrs ago a guy i worked with found a customers wallet on top of the soda machine with $1500.00 in it. He thought long and hard for about 2 seconds (it was a good customer) He got a $50.00 'thank you'.

btw, the reason the customer had so much cash was that he was a concrete worker.

I really don't know. We happened to have a person from Security in the booth when the Coordinator brought in the wallet. And after the owner came I saw him walking back into the main area of the park with the Security guy, but I was back in my ticket booth at the time so I missed out on the conversations. It is possible that he asked to see the person who found the wallet and the Security guy was taking him to the coordinator who brought the wallet in and would have known who found it.
