Sure was a hot shuttle yesterday which drove up to Harbor Pt. I heard there was a small fire near back tire & driver had no clue until CMs smelled burning rubber & waiting CMs saw the fire as shuttle drove in.  Certainly a magical way to start you shift! :bouncemic

Minimum Wage from 1981 to 1989 was $3.35 per hour. At that was up from $3.10 in 1980, prior to that it was $2.90 in 1979, $2.65 in 1978, $2.30 in 1977 and 1976 and $2.10 in 1975.

I am assuming it was an hourly position and not a tipped position (waiter/waitress type) correct?

I'm curious where you got your info from, because I know what I was making back then. We got crap wages for the privilege of working at Disneyland. And yes, I was hourly in what used to be called Merchandise and what is now called Stores. I remember being furious about the change in wage rates after the strike because I didn't make perm until after when it went down.

I got it from http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0774473.html only because they have it in an easy-to-read table.

You can also get it from the Dept. Of Labor (where infoplease got their information) here:
http://www.dol.gov/esa/regs/statutes/wh ... andAct.pdf

Note: that is a full pdf of the Fair Labor Standards Act that created the minimum wage in 1938 and has all amendments to it (where changes to minimum wage were instituted.. etc)

I just skimmed over 52 pages of very dry reading *cough, cough*, and the subsection for 1977 doesn't state the wage of the time. I still think that the information from the other cited webpage is wrong, because Disneyland always had those Department of Labor posters backstage stating the minimum wage of the times and they were less than what we were making. And as I said, I still remember my original, lead and ending payrates quite well - I had to fill them out on enough job applications after I left the company and had the original paystubs for years. I'm not going to drag out my old income tax forms to prove a point and at any rate the original point of this thread is that they should be paying a higher rate ANYWAY... lol.

Yes, I'm sorry for taking you away from your point, which I agree with by the way.

It was just that I entered the working world around 1984 as well and Min. Wage was $3.35 and I was working the Wal-Mart, K-mart, etc. circuit and I can assure you that they don't pay stock boys a penny over minimum.
