I called the honey corn wagon (the one by winnie the pooh and splash) to see how they were doing....
NH: Hi this is **** on Pop 7
Me: Hi **** on Pop 7, are you going to need any honey corn?
NH: Yeah, I'm starting to run low.
Me: Okay we'll see if I feel like getting you some then K?
NH: Ok, oh and have you seen my extra? I haven't gotten a break yet.
Me: What time did you start?
NH: 230 (It was a little after 7)
Me: Okay I'll see what I can do...
But did he ever pick up the phone to call about it? Nope. Retardation should be cause to lose out on breaks.
New hires just keep getting better...

In respect to this new hire. I had a similar situation. I did one ODV (DCA) shift. and though I did call in when I needed more product but not that i needed a break. I assumed I was on the schedule and did not want to be berated for asking, as I was all the time at my own location. I did get paid for it but it was a pain. I feel for the new hires in that situation.
"A little swordplay, now and then, keeps my mind off sheep!"
"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."
"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

but five hours later....i wouldn't have cared if it was my first day. besides, this is surprising since the newest batch of new hires are very open about complaining and asking the FOH where their relief is if it's a little over 2 hours into the shift. *sigh*

Oh, Jeez! You're correct on that one. I finally snapped one day and told this guy that if I come for his break between 2 hours and 3.5 hours that it's acceptable. This guy complains all the time. He still works in ODV too. Have any of you had the pleasure of meeting him? His name starts with an S and ends in an N.
Another time this newhire started whining to me:
Him: Are you going to give me my break yet? I've been here a while.
Me: What time did you start?
Him: 4:30. (It was 6:50)
Me: I've been here since 4:00, so chill.
