The Berry Stand was destroyed and thrown out; I understand that it had been moved at least twice to make way for park expansion since it was built. Face it, Cedar Fair doesn't want anything in "their park" that reflects the park's heritage and beginnings. Two reasons the Church of Reflections was moved; 1.) to make it easier for the congregation to get to church without having to hike a long way under security escort, and 2.) to make room for Silver Bullet. I used to get guest complaints that Knott's wasn't as fun as it used to be--all the old, good stuff was gone. The reason Haunted Shack was taken out in '91 was that it couldn't be made accessible to the handicapped (got alot of flak from guests on that one); the law changed back then saying all rides, attractions, etc. had to be made handicap accessible. I checked the Cedar Fair site, and Knott's is their most profitable park; however, if I read the report right, it only made 1% profit on sales last year. Oh, well, I guess a little profit is better than none at all.... I also noted with interest that Cedar Fair has an Ethics section--any of their members/employees that act in an unethical way are in big trouble. Considering the crap and doubletalk that Knott's management gives their employees, it would be interesting to see if they actually would respond to complaints from current and former Knott's employees and give the idiots in management the heave-ho. I'd love to see that! :D:

I have fond memories of KBF when I was younger. We would go to DL and KBF every time we went. The Ghost mine scared the pee out of me and I never went back on it again (wish I would've). I remeber the ghost rocking chairs on the roofs of the ghost town rocking away (They still there?). The trolley that used to cross the street to Independence Hall thing, and there used to be a interactive play island that had weird creatures made of wood and bamboo and you had to do thigs like walk on a conveyor belt and trot fast to make something squirt water (I am sure thats gone) KB Tales Ride that smelled of Boisenberries. My favorite ride next to the car ride thought the little town was the motorbike racing coaster it was so cool. (Do any of these rides still exist), KBF mader as much magic for me as DL did.

OH P.S.: does the mine train and log ride in the mountain still exist and the volcano with the little devil clown you wound up with a cracnk by the cafeteria/chicken patio that would make the mountain blow? Also do they still rob the train?

Well, when I was last there, during haunt 2004, the Mine Ride and Log Ride were still there, but the Volcano was gone, to make room for Ghost Rider. And they still robbed the train, at least when I worked there last, in '98.

The rocking chairs on top of the buildings in Ghost Town only appear during Haunt, along with skeletons dressed in rags, but they don't rock. I don't remember the trolley, but you still have to go under the tunnel to get to Independence Hall. The only things I remember from the play island nearby was a rocker toy that squirted water, and a stump with a painted wooden skunk on it; there was a sign in front with the following tongue-twister: The skunk sat on the stump. The stump thought the skunk stunk. The skunk thought the stump stunk. As for Knott's Bear-y Tales, that has been replaced with a couple of other rides, most recently Kingdom of the Dinosaurs, which was taken out over a year ago and is being replaced by a Johnny Rocket's. The car ride (Soapbox Racers) and motorbike ride are gone. Now for the good news: The Calico Mine Ride and Log Ride are still there! And as I was a Train Conductor on the Calico Railroad, I can assure you that yes, they still do rob the train! If you think it's been awhile since you were last at Knott's, I haven't been there as a guest in 25 years, and thus missed alot of rides. There used to be a mule-pulled carousel; it consisted of porch-swing-like seats with a chain in front as a restraint system, and it was operated by an old fellow and his mule. To start the ride, after everyone was seated with the chain across, the man would step up on a small platform behind the mule, take the reins, and by means of the reins, plus short whistles and clicks, he would control the mule, getting it to walk in a circle, pulling the contraption around, with centrifugal force keeping you in the seat. It was fun, unique and simple. I imagine they took that out when either the man or the mule died. They also had a burro ride, the last time I rode it was during my last trip there, the weight requirement was 170 lbs., maximum. I think at that time I was about 5-10 pounds below the weight limit; I couldn't ride it now. Like I said earlier, Cedar Fair is just destroying that park. The missions displays are said to be in storage, but are in poor condition. To see what all is at Knott's nowadays, check their website at http://www.knotts.com. But the place is so mismanaged, the new people are so poorly trained, I wouldn't go there.

Weeee, I work there now. :D: Ive only had two real uh...interesting guest experiences so far. We had a girl come up to car five, and flat out ask us if she was at the front of the train. Me and my fellow op just walked away trying not to laugh.

Then yesterday, I had a guy who was determined to buckle the safety belt--with the saftey belt facing backwards (aka flat side to buckle). Again, :p: .

Knotts is fun, only thing thats killing me right now is like 11-12 hour shifts, and the possibility of rain today. I dont want to go down today!

Oh, boy. I'm sure we could trade some interesting stories about that. I refereed two state tournaments in Massachusetts. You think they get bad during normal games, watch what they do when the word "championship" is involved.
