That's because you work at Universal. Note that this thread is in the Walt Disney World forum. :readit:

Bad enough the guests can't tell the difference....

I think he was just pointing out the difference in the two. Six months is a really long time to be stuck in a place you don't like. Do they make exceptions? I'm so glad that Universal does. Example, when I started working at Universal, I wanted to work at Men in Black more than anything. Well, after a week of bad training, the staff using profanity everytime they were backstage and discussing things in the breakroom that would make your hair curl, the management not caring, me being thrown into rotation on my second day and then getting a safety violation, and basically just bad attitudes and no help from everyone that works there, I decided I couldn't stay there. So, I went as high up as I could find and told them what was going on, and got a transfer to someplace better the same day. Does Disney offer this type of transfers if you decide that it is just not working out, or do you still have to wait?

Guest: What time does the park close?
Me: 5 minutes ago.
Guest: Are there any rides still open?
Me: No, the park's closed.
Guest: So, there's no rides still open?

I'm so glad I'm just seasonal!!! :rolleyes:

I know that to transfer to most jobs in the JOBS listings, we're required to be employed by the company for at least a year, in our current job for at least 6 months, and free of disciplinary action for at least 6 months. I think to transfer to operations positions within DLR or WDW we only have to be employed by the company for 6 months but I'm not sure. Attendance infractions don't count as disciplinary action, but I would imagine they'll look at your points if you want to transfer to another operations job.

I put in for a transfer as a Casual Regular after 3 months.

...I never got it though. So I'm still stuck at stupid-ville. It's been since September, so I don't think I'm getting it, haha.

Try applying again in March when you've been there 6 months. There are plenty of open reqs for CR, if you don't mind moving to another department.

I'm going to an intenship at the MK in June. :) So I just have to hold out a little longer...

Plus, I've been there since June 6th, so I'm nearly 9 months in. I applied for a transfer in September, after my 3 month mark.

It's Disneyspeak for "part time".

Other such terms are:
FT = Full Time
CP = College Program
CS = Casual Seasonal = Full time, under 6 months/year, no benefits or seniority

Of course these terms apply to WDW. I understand Disneyland has a different set of employment categories.

Here is the Disneyland Categories

CT= Causual Temperary aka Seasonal Help.
CR= Causual Regular, regulaur help no benefits 0-40 hours a week
CR-25= Same as a CR but has benefits, must work 25+ hours a week, a soon to be extinct classification
RPT= Regular Part Time has benefits, must work 30-35 hours a week
RFT= Regular Full Time has benefits, must work 35+ hours a week
