Greetings,
My name is David and I am current Custodial Host at
Disneyland in California. After three years of
playing, preserving, and occasionally twisting the
magic I have picked up several good stories. One of
my most favorite stories was told to me by an ODV Cast
Member in Tomorrowland. The guest was in standing in
tomorrowland asked how to get to tomorrowland. This
ODV cast member directed the guest to the tomorrowland
train station and to disembark at the 4th stop.
Needless to say the guest followed the advise and
unhappily disembarked at the fourth stop. In some
cases the saying is true: "When guest enter
Disneyland, they leave common sense behind at the
gate."
Best Regards,
David W

Fastpass is probably one of the most confusing things that Disney could have come up with for the guests. They had a hard enough time just trying to figure out how to get in line without adding Fastpass to the mix. I worked Fastpass on Star Tours and it confused just about every guest. They would get a Fastpass and then stand in the regular line and hand me their ticket as they got to the entrance. When I explained that they didn't need a Fastpass to enter or that they could save their ticket for the time slot on it, they would either be really confused at which point any further explanation was useless or they would get very angry that they had wasted their time, at which point any further explanation was useless. Needless to say, Fastpass for the most part just pissed off useless people.

lol, being that I work Star Tours, I know how you feel, Star Tours FastPass is very confusing to the guests, the distribution line and the stand-by line entrance are right next to each other, so people read the part of the sign that says "FastPass", assume since they've been on one side they'll try the other, and walk into the Stand-by line, especially since the FP return queue is on the other side of the concourse entrance, so you also get people coming up to the SAP entrance asking where to go, thus distracting you from pulsing.
"Thank you, and have a pleasant tour"

How about the fastpass distribution for Splash Mountain? People keep getting it mixed up with Winnie the Pooh distribution. Because the words Splash Mountain and Winnie the Pooh look so much alike. Then they get mad when we tell them that they walked right past the Splash distribution and that their Pooh fastpass is not valid for Splash. OOOhh even better...their Splash fastpass is not valid...See the words here "NOT A VALID FASTPASS TICKET" because they have a pooh fastpass. And now we have these Surprise fastpass tickets that they think are either 2 splash tickets or just for the haunted mansion(it prints two tickets at once...one for splash later and for the mansion now) As if they weren't confused enough with one...
haha you just reminded me of this guest I had the other day at the Newsstand.
Guest: "Where can I get a fastpass?"
Me: "Right next to the entrance of the attraction that offers it."
Guest: "Where's that?"
Me: "Right next to the entrance of the attraction that offers it."
Guest: "Where's that?"
This continued back and forth about 5 more times before she finally left.
I think the most confusing part about Splash/Pooh fastpass is that the Pooh fastpass machines actually used to be the Splash fastpass machines. btw I think that Surprise thing is freakin lame. I found one on the ground yesterday at DCA and was like, wtf? Just one more lame thing to confuse the guests.
