What is with you Thunder guys being so uppity about your costume? I work for Kodak and take pictures at Big Thunder, it's what I have to wear. If you have a problem with it go talk to my managers...

lol, i'm joking, i don't even know thunder, but we're all very particular about it, there's no denying that it has a bad rep, and i think that's why people make such a big deal about it.

As far as the costume being worn by Kodak CM's, everybody at thunder knows another attraction in the area, so when we see someone we don't know in the thunder costume, it throws us off, it's a big deal to some of us to get trained there, like literally unlike other attractions where it just shows up on your sched, thunder, they actually bring you into the office and have a little session and break the news to you. i just hope i get a little session before adventure land goes down and i'm stuck at indy...

no worries, i think i got you confused for someone hiring into NOS/CC/R attractions anyway, and that was more the reason i wanted to know why you had a thunder costume, and if you did just hire into attractions, congrats, welcome to our hell.

Well I did just hire into CC Attractions, but I'm not a new hire. This will be my 3rd job at the Disneyland Resort. I got offensive because I've had Thunder CMs say stuff to me before... I don't see them saying anything to the character hosts in the area...

most of them are good natured people, but i'm not them so i wont' try and justify them scoffing at you, or pretend i know why they do it. they probly don't scoff at the character hosts because they deal with the guests wanting to see the characters, minimizing the need for GC hosts, and making our lives eaiser, but like i said, i dunno, me personally, i jsut give the look, and continue on, i know i guy from high school who works for kodak, but rarely says hi, i dunno if he feel inferior, or just doesn't like me enough to say hello.

I have worn the girls ms costume...it was bad at first, the girl's shirt collar does not strench (th guys do). I just think it's unfair the guys get pants and shorts. Plus the knee high socks are hard to keep up and are expensive esp since you have to buy a new pair once a month since our department is not so kind of anything or anyone. But it is better then the old churros one costume. What I am more afraid of is that the other costumes are suppose to look worse. If they are going to make new costumes at least make them look good or comfortable.

Is it over yet...nope just beginning

It could be a lot worse. Does anyone else happen to remember the old yellow polyester jumpsuits for ODV? There's a reason that CMs in the department used to be called Bananas...

<----- You mean this one? Yeah, we were ugly, but we were PROUD. Anyone remember the commotion that was ODV at the Time Castle Cast Photo for Disneyland's 40th? Guests were coming into the Park for early entry when we finished (they were on the sidewalks of Main Street, CMs packed the actual street from Town Square to the Hub), and from the middle is a sea of yellow chanting ODV! ODV! ODV! at the top of our lungs.

When they took us offstage by the Mad Hatter, the sea of yellow burst under the rope for our own group photo on the steps of Main Street Station. The looks on guests' faces were priceless... not to mention some of the security guards who either knew good (mostly) clean fun when they saw it, or just realized they were outnumbered, and didn't stop us.

And yet "Do you work here?" was still one of the most common questions we heard.

My favorite exchange, which happened at least weekly:
12-15 year old guest: You look like an idiot in that.
Me: I get paid to look stupid. What's your excuse?

If I have offended, I apologize from the bottom of my admittedly hypothetical heart.

A lot of us used that line from time to time (I didn't originate it). It was one of those few times when someone not only deserved the snide remark, but wouldn't complain about it. At least, that's what we (seemingly correctly) assumed..."Yes, I told this Cast Member that he looked like a schmuck, then he got all mad at me!"
