Going to Disneyland in January...any advice on weather?

Post by Johnhost » Wed Dec 29, 2004 9:40 pm

I am going to Disneyland on January 24th-26th. I am hoping I can meet some of the cast memebers while I am there... going with my buddy who hasn't been in 20 years and he is like really excited.

Anyway we won't punch the mickey or anything... we are good guest.

Oh BTW which way is the Castle? Does tinkerbell live there??

Just kidding!

DLR welcomes GOOD guests. Thank you. :) Layer, layer & bring heavy coat. Can't go wrong with a scarf & gloves. Remember - rain panchos are cheaper @ Target

Main Streeter is right, make sure you have extra clothing if rain is in the forecast. http://www.weather.com is a good source. Looks like you are timing your visit during all the referbs. Mansion is supposed to be back up by then but Splash will be down.

We welcome all guests. Its always refreshing to have guests who know what they are doing too.

Well it looks like I might have to push it back to Febuary because of some timing on paying bills. Disney is giving us travel agents a special 50.00 a night at paradise pier plus free 3 day parkhoppers. I am getting guest passes for my airfare so basicly I only will be reamed at the food counters... lol. I mean for 2 day hotel and air for 2 people for only $240.00 is pretty good!

Since I represent Expedia.com while I am there of course I have to be extra nice.

I am from Washington so I can handle rain. But when is going to be the best time to catch most of the rides open. I went last summer and I can miss some... but my friend hasn't been on 90% of em and I think Splash is a big one to miss... we got to go no later then Febuary sometime however.

Let me know!

I don't know what is planned for the eastside of the park but I do know what is planned for the Westside. Mansion is supposed to be down for 3 weeks of January (rumor of possibly 5), Splash goes down the end of January for 3 to 5 months, the Mark Twain is scheduled for a paint Job, I also heard pirates is supposed to go down for a bit. The end of Febuary Steam Trains, Lincoln, Jungle and Tiki are all going to be down (I don't remember when their respective referbs start). We're getting ready for the 50th.

That's pushing it tight on Jungle... One thing goes majorly wrong, and it'll be down for the start of the 50th Celebration...

Same with Storybook, it's supposed to be down 4/4/05-5/4/05 So if anything goes wrong there, it won't be open for the 50th either.
