I wonder if there is any time that it would be okay to smack a guest upside the head and tell them to stop using up oxygen that could be used by an intelligent life form... like a snail... or an earthworm....
I have always loved just observing the stupidity that surrounds you in the park. I happen to be an ODV and I hope that its just that we catch the brunt of it, but due to the fact that this web site exists, I fear that my hopes are in vain.
Whenever I think of a stupid guest interaction I have had, I remember one woman in particular. She came up to me when I was busy making cotton candy(this was quite a while ago, I know, because we no longer have that location for some reason). Well, anyway, she came up and asked me where "that big, white Epcott ball was." I paused from my work and thought for a second as to how i should break this to her and not laugh my ass off and said, "I'm sorry Miss but thats in Florida at Disney World." And I'll be damned but she pulled out a disneyworld map and pointed on it and said "we are in Disney World and I want to know where that ball is!"
Apparently she had either been afflicted with the world's worst case of jet lag or something wasnt right with her because she was convinced that she was not only in Florida but she was at disneyworld and I was part of some huge conspiracy to keep her from seeing the epcott ball. She proceeded to call me everything that she could think of while i fought back the laughter so hard that my eyes were tearing up.
I somehow managed to call a custodial CM over and asked him for a map which he happily obliged. I handed the map to her and told her that perhaps this will clear up any further confusion. She just walked away and that was the last I heard of it.
If anyone else ran into a woman, that may have been the same woman by any chance, and had a similarly hilarious experience, please reply! I am curious if my experience with her was isolated or a part of a much better story...

What do you live for?
What are you willing to die for?
They should both be the same thing...

That is hilarious! The depth of stupidity that led to that is really hard to imagine.

Re: I Wonder...
She must be the sister of a guy I talked to back in '87, working the State Fair Midway Games on Main Street one day. This fellow came up to me, kinda off in his own flowry, multicolored fog, and asked "Where's the last ride at the end of the universe?" At this, I could smell the pot on his breath, and despite his rather vague description, I replied, "You mean Star Tours? It's at the end of Main Street, turn right at Tomorrowland and it's the first thing you'll come do. His eyes kept dilating in and out, and he thanked me when he finally understood that I'd answered him, then he said, "Oh, do you work here?"TaskMaster2002 wrote:she was convinced that she was not only in Florida but she was at disneyworld and I was part of some huge conspiracy to keep her from seeing the epcott ball.
"Yes" I said, as I stood there in my Disneyland costume, and Disneyland badge, on Main Street, inside of a Disneyland game booth.
"Okay" he said, "Have a good day"
I've often wondered if Star Tours was anything to top whatever it was he was already spaced out on.

Sadly, being stupid is not against the law. I agree with a comedian I once heard saying something to the effect of:
"There are too many stupid people, I think we should take the warnings off of things that are dangerous, so the problem takes care of itself"

To lurk in the darkness, out of site while at your back. The shadow is the wisest of all.

Stupid Customer Questions
My brother works at the San Francisco Airport and comes home with some of the best questions, and his actual responses. My favorites at the moment:
1) Do you work here? No, I just wear this uniform for fun.
2) Is that the elevator? No, it's the vertical people storage unit.
3) Is that the customs line? No, that the Frisk Area.
