I personally never understood why people like to have their ID showing at all. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't want other people to even have a peek at my personal information. It's not even just CMs, but guests too. I commonly see credit cards in those clear lanyards. Are you asking for someone to steal your number?

As for rude CMs, I have a couple of stories. The first one was a preview for one of the seasonal parades at MK for CMs only. Normally what happens, is that everyone will meet behind these Toon Town gates until the park is clear. Well, the CM lady who was working at the gate was going to let everyone in. Instead of opening the gate however, everyone was supposed to go through the side entrance next to the gate so she could count everyone. It wasn't long before some idiot decided they waited too long already and pulled the pin holding the gate, causing a flood of people to go through the gate. The poor CM lady tried to close the gate and eventually got it closed, but imagine how pissed she was.

One night there was a cast preview at my attraction. If you think Brazilian tour groups are bad, CMs can be just as bad, or sometimes worse. Imitating the tour groups, they were loud and noisy, chanting and all this stuff. You couldn't get in one word (safety spiels) before the vehicle arrived because they were so loud. I remember one time they were all screaming as they sat in the vehicle, and as I'm doing my routine of loading, one of them was like "f__ all this just go". I'm thinking "Duh! It's still for your own safety, do you think just cause you are a CM you can do anything you want?"

It kinda blows my mind that they do all of this safety stuff all day then they throw it out the window as soon as the day is over.

The quickest road to termination ran through Pleasure Island.

It happened more times than I can count. A CM would come in, get drunk and get beligerent, or get caught underage drinking. As security was escorting them out, they pull out their ID and yell "BUT I WORK HERE!!!!". :duh:

Goodbye. Do not pass GO. Do not collect $200.

All trespassed, arrested, and/or evicted are run through the CM database. If they did not self identify, it just took a lil longer to terminate them.

I really enjoy when DL CMs or WDI are on property and act up. I had one tell me that I couldn't tell him what to do cause he did not work for WDW. Well sweetie, let me call Anaheim. Hold on..just takes a couple minutes.

Yeah, his boss fired him via phone. Oh and he was told he could retain his plane ticket but would be billed for his plane ticket, hotel, and rental car out of his last check. He was also told I would be retaining his company IDs and security would escort him to his room to get all Company documents. :D:

I really miss PI. Great place to party and the idiots that did not belong working for Disney usually managed to screw up and get fired first couple of weeks. :p: Now, it takes so much longer to weed them out. :(

The whole idea of company parties is not to party. Applies to any time you represent the company at home or on the road.

When I was in the Army Reserve we would do a end of active duty party. I watched a Major destroy his career by getting drunk and ridicule our brigade commander. As a bonus, he almost drowned while trying to find a beer in a jeep trailer full of ice and water. One of the cooks fished him out. Nice guy. Never saw him again.

I work for a section of one of the parks that is rather small. Part of our role is to ask guests in the park questions about their visit to improve guest experience. We get a lot of people who don't want to talk to us, so it sometimes makes our job difficult.

It is great when we get cast members who are nice enough to talk to us, but unfortunately, sometimes they use their badges as a way of blowing us off. I have had a lot of guests who try to flash their badges and walk off, as if it entitles them to not talk to us, so I have come up with a few handy come backs :)

I flash them my badge, and then say, where was I... oh yes... could you please...

I get excited and say, "Oh wow, I work here too! Isn't that awesome! Could you now please..."

Or I say, "Oh, don't worry, we love cast members too! Now could you please..."

Thankfully, usually they realize at this point that they won't be escaping my clutches so easily :)
