First off, I will admit that my knowledge of fireworks is limited to they go "boom", however, I wonder about the lighter too close. It has to be close to the extent that it is actually touching the fuse, doesn't it? Fire from a lighter doesn't just leap about. It's to bad Paul Harvey is no longer with us so we could get "the rest of the story".

I think the article alludes to the fact that he was doing something dumb to make people laugh and didn't mean to hold the lighter so close as to actually set it off. A tragic accident.
