I participate in a Boffer group affiliated with a LARP, and using it's rules. The rules for archers make it prohibitively expensive for me to become one right now, since you have to mod your arrows so heavily, and they can be lost and snapped and things. There's hardly any archers as a result, and a lot more spellcasters (tossing beanbag "spell packets") and swords folks (with latex foam weapons.) Let it never be said though that a properly wielded latex weapon doesn't sting like hell when you take a full force hit. OW!!!
