Stupid Guest Tricks

So, we recently had a local waterpark shut down which was located near my park. They had presold season passes, and now aren't offering a refund to the people who paid for them last year. (Stupid Owner Tricks?) We're offering a discount on a season pass to those affected, as long as they can present their pass voucher to us (we don't have a list of names of people who had vouchers, and it's unlikely that a list exists anymore, from what I've heard). Can you see where this is going...?

"But I don't have my voucher with me!"

Really, people? You expect me to believe you without being presented any evidence of what you're saying? And you get mad at me because of your lack of reading skills? The computer won't even let me give you the discount unless I can scan the old barcode. (well, I could, but they don't know that...)

That makes me feel really sad for the poor people who bought season passes.

It is really sad, but at least a lot of local places have stepped up with offers that total more than the passes originally did. It's just annoying that the guests take out their frustration on us, since we have nothing at all to do with the former waterpark. We're the ones trying to be nice here, guys!

Whoa wait, Why on earth is Beach shutting down? That place was constantly full anytime we've been over that way. I'm surprised!

That's a pretty crappy thing from them to do, more so since I'd bet the owners and management knew what was coming but to still sell the season passes?
However it is nice to see other places stepping up to help people!

From what I've heard, the economy hurt them quite a bit more than it hurt us. They had been struggling in 2011 and it seems like they were hoping that the 2012 pass sales would get them enough money to operate, and they didn't get enough money to be able to open. I feel really bad for the people who bought passes, especially since now it makes us look like the bad guys who put their beloved park out of business. It's a really sad situation. :(
