I was remembering the opening of Test Track. That ride was down more than it was open.

Psh, you guys want something that was down more than it was up? I'll kick all y'alls butts right now with two words.

ROCKET RODS

'Nuff said. That thing was a nightmare. I can't remember a single operating day it actually ran without going down.

And I guarantee Radiator Springs Racers will have its fair share of problems upon opening as well....

ROCKET RODS
Ain't this the truth! Back in 2000 - 2002 when I worked near RRods it was 101 @ least twice daily. Must have had an evil hex.

^ Were you ever around when they used a Cast Member blowing a whistle to track the car in case the car's computer went offline? What advanced technology! :hysteria:
Or when they had to run the ride in sooper-dooper ultra slow mode to keep track of the cars? I swear that computer system was based on Windows 95 judging by how poorly it ran.

The tale of the Rocket Rods is a tragic, hilarious, and odd tale. Did we ever learn anything from it?

Not around then. Just walked thru over & over & over whenever it was 101. I do recall the attraction in ultra slow chug. May have even run on DOS. Yes, I learned from it. Change my prefs. :D:

I recall visiting Dad in '91 and watching guests walking along the track after it broke down!

I did see allot of that too. I also remember seeing it slow down on the tracks and inching along until it died. :D:

Who really knows what will return on those tracks again?

I enjoy the shade it provides. At least it can do that right. :p:
