Interesting conversation on the bus tonight...

Post by Big Wallaby » Sat Nov 17, 2007 3:11 am

Driving Fort Wilderness tonight. Had a group of five girls/young ladies (18-22 age range) get on the bus going to the camp fire, and they liked the experience of riding my bus so much they rode again later because they were looking for me.

On the return trip, two of them decided to play Chubby Bunny. That's a game where you take turns putting a marshmallow in your mouth and attempting to say, "chubby bunny." You continue adding marshmallows, no chewing or swallowing allowed. By the end of the game, it can turn into an amazing show of sheer determination. And, of course, when you have two 18-22 year-old girls playing it, it becomes a rather cute game. However, it prompted a conversation that I didn't care to hear.

Girl 1 and 2 are playing Chubby Bunny
Girl 3 (to girl 4): Hey, I think you would be really, really good at this, with the way you like to put *things* in your mouth.
Girl 4: What do you mean?
Girl 3: Oh, c'mon, do I need to spell it out for you?
(Bus nearly runs off the road)
Me (in my best announcer voice): Ladies and... well, ladies. Please keep in mind that there is one person on this bus of the male persuasion... Namely, me. Thank you for holding certain conversations for the privacy of your cabin. The Walt Disney World Resort and your *male* bus driver thank you for your understanding.

About halfway through saying that, I realized what might happen if they were talking like that specifically to get a rise out of me. Thankfully, they laughed and stopped.

I'm assuming they won't add Wallaby's announcement to the MiMs... though it would be funny to hear Disney Announcer Guy saying something along those lines :p:

They have one along the lines, "Ladies and gentlemen, at Disney World we try to provide a family environment. For this reason, we ask that you please mind your use of language. Thank you" or something like that.

Mine would be, "Ladies and gentlemen, in order to maintain a family atmosphere at Walt Disney World, watch your <microphone goes dead for a second> language. Thank you."

They have an announcement for everything. Even ones impersonally wishing guests happy birthdays, happy anniversaries, wishing them a great first visit, etc. Very sad.
