Only way the hat can be saved is by a gust of wind.
Indy's Fedora in the show has a strap (No stapling it to the head)

Thanks for the clarificaton!

Yes, that mother needs to be sent back to Disney Character Identification school.

I figured that the timing is such that the sort of improvisation that would be required to save a lost hat would not be possible, but thought I would ask.

No stapling? Is hot glue out of the questions, then? Duct tape? :)
