No Parking for CMs this June

Word on Board X is that Disney executives are going to convert CM parking lots into Guest parking lots this coming June so anyone working that month will be forced to park at either Angel Stadium or Honda Center. :mad:

If this is true, I will be so mad! They apparently loved the Leap Day mishap so much they're making a repeat for the LOLs. This stinks, why should we CMs have to suffer for their greed?

This seems like pure stupidity, especially the part about parking at Angel Stadium (considering that it's baseball season...) Also, they've never needed to do this before (considering that they have what was the largest parking structure in the world at the time of it's completion, plus a very large outdoor lot, and a second, overflow lot, not to mention an agreement to send some overflow into parking at Gardenwalk. Frankly, I suspect that it's someone at Board X spreading a rumor and getting what few facts they might possibly have heard completely and totally wrong.

I heard that when ALL the guests parking lots are FULL, they divert all parking to the Angels' Stadium!! That is ALLLLLLLLLLLL the way out in the boonies!!!

I heard this too on the FB shift trade page. Please say it isn't so. I hope the cast shuttles drop off/pick up at the stadium. Or else I will look into public transportation to get to work. It would be nice if there was a blurb on the Hub about this or at least notices in the break areas. We need a heads up if this is true!

Board X info is just that, X info. There will be parking adjustments from time to time, but nothing as severe as way out parking in.... Chino. ;) As for me; K Lot will be my only lot. :)

I wonder if the changes to the K-lot entrance for cast are somehow
being intepreted as "getting turned into guest parking"?

Have y'all noticed the front right "Bambi" section is becoming a driveway
of sorts, leading to an i.d. swipe entrance gate? It can easily be mistaken
for a toll plaza being built in it's current state.

In any case, it would be nice to hear something official on Cast TV or
even the portal about what to expect other than cause rampant
speculation across the web.

I've never seen a company take such psycotic pleasure in keeping
it's own staff uninformed and then throw out attendance points with
deadly accuracy for not being "flexible" or "planning ahead". Not to
mention the classic "no lates will be excused".

Well, as my uncle Guido says: "I got 'yer excuse right here, pal."

My old broken down K-lot cruiser can still pull a great u-turn at the
last second and head straight for the beach if any delay more than a few
minutes is caused by this new gate mess.

They try to make parking as difficult as possible here in WDW in AK and Studios too. In AK, there is TONS of space that they could convert into parking backstage. In Studios, there is a possibility of making another parking garage backstage. Instead, we park in a section of the normal parking lot, and have to walk all the way through the park to wherever we work.

That means bad show could be avoided if we could park backstage. That means happier cast that didn't have to walk all the way across the park. Oh, and finding a parking spot in Studios in the middle of the day is a ton of fun too. You'll have to drive around for 10 minutes waiting for someone to get out. And now rumors of them closing off the satellite entrance, the one that I use every day. Awesome.

I'm sure it's not as bad as the situation rumored for DL, but it's very frustrating.

It's official.


Fliers came out Friday that the K-Lot will be used for guest paid parking
after 4:59 am Sunday, June 17.

Damn was that stupid.

That means location openers that typically don't start until 5:45 or so
will be parking over at Honda Center and waiting for shuttles so they
can OPEN THE PARK! That's if they are willng to put up with that in
the first place.

If I were TPO, I'd be screaming like a banshee to get all of those
park openers in early to K-Lot, even if it means sitting on their tushies
for an hour. At least they will be there and get the damn park open.

This isn't going to be pretty, kids.
