I wish that I could take credit for being there in person to witness
this one...but it had the whole ODV office talking about it tonight
so I figured I'd share it with everybody here.

One of our more veteran cast members was working on a popcorn wagon
today (6th day I assume) and he had a guest come up to him who wanted
a refill for his souvenir popcorn bucket. He informed the guest that
we do not give refills but for $2.75 he could buy a box of popcorn
and use that to refill his bucket. The guy flipped out saying that
the CM was mistaken and that he had been told that he could get it
refilled, that he was being ripped off, etc... Despite the CMs best
effort the guest wanted to speak to a manager, the CM told him that
he could go to City Hall and file a complaint. But that was not good
enough, the guest "didn't want to walk all the way down there". He
wanted the CM to call a manager out right now, after the CM told him
that he had no radio or no phone and could not call anyone out to the
wagon the guest whipped out his cell phone and demanded a number that
he could call. Not sure what else to do the CM gave him the number
to the ODV office where one of our leads had the bad fortune to
answer the call. After the lead backed up the CM's story telling the
guest that they could not give a direct refill to the bucket due to
health regulations, and that the popcorn box and the bucket are the
same size so he would get the same amount of popcorn, the guest
replied "then what the hell is the point of the bucket" to which the
lead replied "well it is a SOUVINIER bucket", the guest than
replied "what the hell am I going to do with a souvenir bucket, I
live 15 miles away I don't need a souvenir bucket." Eventually the
lead convinced the guy to return the bucket for a refund, which he
did.

And with the refund he bought a $2.75 popcorn.

This is part of the reason why I have the number to City Hall
memorized. They are good at getting this type of guest to stop
whining.
