Re: PAC, over stuffing queues & parking

No, it's ok, and yeah, the next time was better. My friends wanted to go to the park, so I reluctantly said ok. Now I did see one thing that PAC was doing that had no use whatsoever, and that was standing in the middle of the crowd, right in front of Crystal Palace after Wishes. There were at least...

Re: PAC, over stuffing queues & parking

Interesting. I'll bow to your superior access to the numbers, but I'll stand by my opinion that the crowds are both thicker and less polite. I agree, the parks feel way thicker. Another aspect is average wait times have decreased a bit with the DOCC initiative and similar. Maybe less people are sit...

Re: PAC, over stuffing queues & parking

I wish Studios and AK would get backstage parking. Studios could use a new parking garage, next to Coaster (at least 2 stories tall), and AK has quite a bit of space back there that could be used. Problem with using the Coaster lot as actual parking or building a garage is twofold: a) with the back...

Re: PAC, over stuffing queues & parking

No, but neither was the park often this crowded on a year-round basis. I don't know what the average attendance at the MK is any more, but it certainly seems like it's much higher than the 42k average when I started there. We are also getting more guests from out of the culture. I don't mean just f...

Re: College program pay and rent.

I was on the WDWCP in Spring 1991. I made $5.60 an hour and lived in a six person apartment at Vista Way that cost me $56.00 a week. The four person apartment cost was $79.00 a week. Just curious what they pay on the college program and charge today for housing. $7.75 an hour for attractions and ~$...

Re: Props to this Security CM

Towards the end of the video there was a manager looking guy in a black shirt (he had an ID on a lanyard at least) who was getting the crowd back and putting his hand in front of the camera after the guy lowered it. I'm surprised more tower CMs didn't come out purely to back up the crowd, as they d...

Re: You forgot how to CLOCK IN?

Some of us work in areas that only have the card reader. We aren't on CDS (thank God!). The WDW RR tried CDS for a week, and it was a disaster. Thereafter we just used it to clock in and out and ignored it the rest of the time. Worked much better. I think Main St Ops finally stopped totally ignorin...

Let me guess, government funded contract work?

Should have separated that out better, CPs basically have no union.

Re: Disney to allow beards

I didnt know there was a problem finding cast members. I know there are hundreds of part time and seasonal castmembers that are begging to be made full time. Exactly. They don't want full timers, they want CPs and part timers as they save something in the range of $5-$8 an hour in overhead on thing...
