Re: It's Not A Disney Movie...

What's in the fine print on the back of tickets? Any wordings that would indicate private/commercial filming is not permitted?

Re: Get Ready WDW CMs

We just don't buy much merchandise anymore. But personally, I think that's likely due to the quality and selection of the merchandise, not necessarily the price or how often you visit. I know it is for me. I'd happily buy more t-shirts, for example, if they still had cool and unique ones like the o...

My dad used to have a sign in his office at work: "Thank you for holding your breath while I smoke."

I found it a lot funnier before he died of lung cancer in April.

Re: Best DL Guidebook?

Luckily, I've just learned that they've postponed their trip until October, so I've got time to wait and see the new editions when they come out. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and assistance, and my apologies in advance if you happen to be working when my SIL descends on DL... ;-)

Re: Best DL Guidebook?

How bad are the Birnbaum guides? I really want something new and up-to-date, covering Cars Land and all of the other recent changes. There's no way they'll do the research to compare and know what's new or changed since a 2006 book.

Re: Best DL Guidebook?

Okay, so I checked out the Passporter site and it looks great. Unfortunately, it would mean international shipping, and add duty, and it wouldn't arrive until after the holidays. And I can't seem to find the current edition on Amazon or Chapters (our Cdn chain). The newest they list for DL is 2006. ...

Best DL Guidebook?

My brother has decided to take his family (him, wife, 4yo daughter, 2yo son, plus our mom) to Disneyland in May. (He lives in BC, so they're driving down.) However, he's done very little research. Yesterday's questions were about rides...as in, are there rides there? I think he'll be okay when he ge...

Re: Is it true about the Main Street Bakery becoming a Starbucks?

While I haven't been to see it myself, everything I've seen and read online about the California Adventure location says that they've worked pretty hard to fit the Starbucks logo, etc. in fairly subtly. Small signage, themed costumes, location still sells Disney food items as well. There's a good ar...

Re: Be Our Guest will serve beer and wine...

I don't have a problem with it, since it is clearly stated that it's just during sit-down dinner service, and there's no take-away at all. And, it's all pretty fancy and expensive...even the beers are imports only. It's not like people are going to be swilling Bud by the gallon. ;) I can't see how i...
