Re: Strike!
Frankly, I don't think strikes or unions are a good idea. Birdmom has given the reasons why a strike is bad. I have seen what unions do, and some members of my family are former and current union members--and frankly, the unions screw their members over. I remember when I was living temporarily back...

Re: Knott's Berry Tales of Stupid Guest and Employees
The Berry Stand was destroyed and thrown out; I understand that it had been moved at least twice to make way for park expansion since it was built. Face it, Cedar Fair doesn't want anything in "their park" that reflects the park's heritage and beginnings. Two reasons the Church of Reflecti...

Re: Guests Who Ruin Your Day...
When I worked at Knott's, you ran into mainly parents who acted more childish than their kids. And I got a couple of race-related incidents; once a black woman said I called a Latina stupid, then pretended that her daughter's purse had been left in one of the planes at Red Baron (I've posted this st...

Re: New [Disneyland] lunch break requirements
I remember a few times when I worked at Knott's that my breaks would come late because some putz took forever to get back and forth. One time we had this older guy who would go on his break and take forever to get back. And if you spoke to him about it, he would get angry and defensive. As I recall,...

Re: Ghosts
I don't believe in ghosts, and if you think people have died at DL, there have been a few deaths at Knott's---less than there should have been, considering that place is a disaster waiting to happen. Check out http://www.themeparkinsider.com , and search for Knott's. There have been a few guest deat...

Re: Stupid Freaking Cheerleaders!!!!!
You just reminded me of how great it is why I no longer work at Knott's. We had problems with cheerleaders and cheer moms as well. I remember once on the Calico R.R., I was bringing the train back (as conductor), and this loser cheer mom was unlocking the turnstile and letting herself and her girls ...

Re: The Intermittant Parent
When I worked at KBF, we had similar problems. There were people who wanted to know if they could leave their kids at Lost Children's Center while they went on rides the kids didn't qualify for. The answer was, of course, "No." Let's face it, people today think they are so perfect as paren...

Re: Stupid Questions at KBF
When I worked on the Calico Railroad, it was amazing how many people asked where's the entrance to the train. I mean, we had a sign over the door of the depot that clearly said "Train Entrance", plus next to the door was a Rider Safety Guide with the ride requirements on it, which is poste...

Re: RUDE RUDE RUDE
They fired you for going to the bathroom? I would so be calling my lawyer... I emailed kcal 9 and suggested they go to Knott's undercover to do a story on how management mistreats their employees. I also filed a complaint with OSHA. And when they called to tell me they were still checking...

Re: yelling is rude
Oh boy, last April I was operating the Calico Railroad, and I saw a kid playing with our ancient and decrepit turnstile, and because of the noise level I yelled at him to please not play with the turnstile. Sometime later, another kid was playing on the chain gate we use to let wheelchair users thro...
