Re: Lightning Strike - Monorail Black Evacuated

Has that ever happened? Dunno. One train burned up a few cars in '85 but I can't remember why and those trains were completely different. Mmmmm. Nostalgia moment. *cough* Sorry. If it was a near strike on the buss bar, you've almost certainly bricked the MBS receiver, but a human pilot can hold dow...

Re: Lightning Strike - Monorail Black Evacuated

If only the monorails were computer-controlled. That would have solved it. Ha! Because a fried computer on top of everything else would have been AWESOME! Maybe if it had a Tempest enclosure... I don't think it matters how much HEMP, TEMPEST, or surge suppression you have on the control ...

In the meantime, for me, it isn't greatly impacting my experience, although I haven't tested that since last December. Three of us tried for a walk-up the sec...

Re: Remembering Pleasure Island

It's like that at Knott's Berry Farm/Nazi Fairy Farm; ever since the Knott family sold the park to Cedar Fair, it's been on a downhill slide. Mr. Knott hoped that his park would educate people about our Western Heritage and history, as well as being unique in its own right. Now it's slowly being tu...

Re: Remembering Pleasure Island

A lot of what you wrote really comes home for me. While the World is still the favorite vacation destination for me and my wife, we do often get the feeling that they care less about us than they used to. As I mentioned above, I used to buy a polo shirt every trip. Now, I can't find any I like. I'v...
