Re: Fourth of July Monorail Incident

This is a tragic incident, but I think it's important to remember that through the hard work of cast members, the monorails operated for 38 years without such an incident. So I think our SGT monorail pilots deserve much credit for continuing to operate it in a safe manner. The operating guidelines n...

Re: Fourth of July Monorail Incident

Oh my God. What a tragedy. God rest the deceased's soul and be with his family. The MAPO system on Pink must have failed in someway and failed in a fail-dangerous way instead of a fail-safe way. MAPO is supposed to stop the train when there isn't enough hold points visible (trains block the hold po...

Monorail Collision this Morning

Just heard on the news about the monorail collision this morning. I hope none of our cast members here were involved in this. My thoughts go out to the family of the cast member who was killed. I do wonder how this happened.

Re: A Good Old Soapbox Rant

I trade pins, but I don't consider myself a pin trader. :) The pin traders drive me crazy, even as a guest. On more than one occasion, I've been speaking with a CM when a pin trader will step in and interrupt to see their lanyard. It makes me want to smack them in the back of their heads. I trade fo...

Re: Free pin promotion is the bain of my existance.

The Marathon is fun in Monorails. Five trains on Epcot! Woot! Oh, and for you Monorail Pilots, we were running on AMVS Override the whole time. Driving with a red upper display: Fun. Driving with a BLUE upper display: Awesome! I'm guessing here (would appreciate clarification) that AMVS override is...

I love it but ended up with so many Estops and angry guests. I ended up with a long line to exit, lol, but it was fun to torture guests for once.
How do you get estops? I haven't seen one yet.

Re: Observations of the World

I knew you guys would handle the situation well. Just this one EMPLOYEE was off her rocker or something. If it's not too late to do so now, who is best to contact with the info? I do have the bus #, route, and time/date, so if it's still kept on record, I could definitely provide that. I am planning...

Re: The dumbest thing you have ever seen a guest do!

That is bad in so many ways. For those of you who have not been on a monorail through a switch while sitting in a passenger car (that should be ALL of us), I can't even imagine what the experience is like. From the cab, you can feel every car as it goes through. It's kinda nice, there, to be hangin...

Yep... my favorite though is when people INSIST that I explain to them what is wrong with their computer, and then they tell me they didn't understand what I said. I usually then sum it up with "it's broken."

Almost feels like half the people here have worked in IT at some point.

Well, in that case, there definitely needs to be something going on!

Thanks again for the experience... next time I need to hunt you down when you're on Epcot so it's a bit longer. :)
