To be fair, every day is a Churro Festival to us.

E.P.C.O.T., FL — The annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is just days from starting, but Walt Disney World aficionados are already planning for a new event that promises to be even more popular: the EPCOT Centre Festival of the Churro!

Epcot – Rotten with Festivals

EPCOT Center is known for its award winning festivals and events that turn Walt Disney World’s second-oldest Park & Spa into a major attraction, loved by fans all over the world and Wyoming. Fans flock in droves to experience new and exotic cuisines — and the best part is that you can pretty much plan a trip at any time and you’re guaranteed to enjoy some sort of festival!

The top-selling food item at any Disney Park in the world, including the newest park in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, is of course the churro. The churro’s popularity inspired the Imagineers to come up with another way to draw in the crowds to spend large amounts of money on this very profitable snack. The result? The Festival of the Churro!

The churro

Disney spokesperson, Jun Disney (no relation) reached out to Uncle Walt’s with this exclusive news, “Cinnamon. Sugar. Fried doughy goodness all wrapped in a generic deli paper wrap. You see, the paper is purposely boring so you take nothing away from the churro. It is this kind of attention to detail that will be prevalent at the new Festival of the churro!

“And by that, I mean we will do nothing to take away from the focus of the churro. No signs, no advertising, because it is all about the churro. You’ll know that it is Festival of the Churro time when there are no other festivals going on. It is an innovative concept that only Disney (the company, not me) can do!”

Not everyone is a fan of the Festival

Harvey W., of Jackson Hole, WY, is not so sure E.P.C.O.T. needs another festival. He shared his thoughts with Uncle Walt’s Insider in a long-winded rant that we were forced to limit due to the cost of Internet Ink, but he basically said the following:

“Look, I love a good churro as much as the next guy. In fact, I have a separate churro budget for my annual trip to Disney. But when you throw another festival into the mix, it means higher ticket prices and larger crowds. Thankfully, though, some genius has put out his own money-saving guide to visiting Walt Disney World!”

The Festival of the Churro will continue to run from now until August 30th when the International Food & Wine Festival starts, and then will have a limited run from November 13th to the 17th, as November 18th marks the start of the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. The Festival of the Churro will return on December 31st for an even more infamous [Ed.: This means more than famous, right?] Festival of the Churro – New Year Celebration!
